The project is located in Wu'an City, Hebei Province, invested and by Hebei Taihang Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., and our company is responsible for the construction of pile foundation.
The main scope of work of this project is the construction of pile foundation and phase II trial piles in coking area, iron making area, steel making area, ESP area, public auxiliary area, power generation area, coal washing plant area, raw material area and scrap steel area, with pile diameter of 0.8 m, pile length of 6-52 m, and the number of piles is about 11,000.
Most of the upper strata of this project are backfilled with rocks, and the depth of backfilling is up to 20 m or more, which is a deep backfilling stratum, and there is no groundwater during the construction period, so the full-length casing is used for the construction. Key and difficult points of construction control: 1. the lifting of the full-length casing; 2. concrete grouting elevation control, part of the strata had serious concrete leakage when the casing was lifted after the concrete grouting was completed. Our department ensured the quality of pile foundation construction by analyzing the stratigraphy during drilling, estimating the amount of concrete leakage, and checking the concrete leakage when the casing was lifted. After the piles were completed, a third-party testing company was commissioned by the owner to test the pile foundation works of this project, and the test results were all qualified through static load method and low strain method test.
With the unremitting efforts of all project personnel, the project started on Jan 27, 2021 and was completed on Sep 24, 2022, completing the nodal target of the owner in quality and quantity, which was well received by the owner and the supervisory department.
